Firefighters are tackling a major blaze at Dalton Mills, a historic textile mill in Keighley, Yorkshire, this evening (Saturday). The fire was reported at around 8pm at the building on Dalton Lane.
Emergency response and road closures
West Yorkshire Police and multiple fire crews from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue are dealing with the incident, according to YorkshireLive. Road closures and cordons have been established, with Dalton Lane currently shut to all traffic.
The 150-year-old mill building has previously been used as a filming location for Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey.

West Yorkshire Police posted on Facebook: "Please be aware that Dalton Mills are currently on fire. Dalton Lane in Keighley is currently closed to all traffic, as our colleagues from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are working to bring the situation under control."
"We advise people to stay away from the area, and residents in the vicinity to keep all doors and windows closed."
History of fires at the site
According to reports, the site has been hit by numerous fires over the past four years. More than 100 firefighters tackled a blaze in March 2022. Another significant fire erupted at the mill in July 2025, with 12 fire engines dispatched to the scene. The site also previously experienced a serious fire in 2011.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service posted a statement saying: "At approximately 8:00pm, we were called to a large fire involving Dalton Mills, Keighley. We currently have 12 fire engines at the incident as firefighters continue to tackle the large incident."
"Please avoid the area while emergency crews work at the scene. Residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation. Further incident updates to follow."
