A major gas leak in Chryston, North Lanarkshire, has led to the evacuation of homes and the closure of several roads. Police and firefighters are currently at the scene.
Road closures and cordon
The A80 has been closed at its junction with Cumbernauld Road and Knowe Road. A cordon is in place, and members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A80 is closed at its junction with Cumbernauld Road and Knowe Road in Chryston due to a gas leak at a property. A number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution. Emergency services are in attendance, and the public is asked to avoid the area.”
