Manchester United are still hoping to convince JJ Gabriel to stay, more than a week after he expressed his desire to cancel his registration and leave the club with immediate effect. The teenager's decision has stunned the Reds, but significant interest from elsewhere continues.
Gabriel's preferred destinations
Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the leading contenders to land Gabriel's signature, and it is thought he would prefer a move to Spain rather than joining Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain. If he chose to remain in England, Chelsea would be his top option.
Although Gabriel is desperate to quit United, he is not able to leave until the end of the season and cannot be deregistered. He turns 16 next month, at which point he becomes eligible to sign a scholarship agreement with United.
Fans call for INEOS boycott
Elsewhere, United fans have called for a boycott of INEOS-owned products and companies, as well as any of United's commercial sponsorship deals. Examples cited include Betway, Coca-Cola, Adidas, and DHL.
United are next in action against Tottenham, with more than two weeks to go until then as the extended international break continues.
