Luton Airport offers free prebook security slots to skip queues
Luton Airport free prebook security slots skip queues

Passengers travelling from London Luton Airport (LLA) can use a free pre-booked security slot to skip queues and reduce holiday stress. The service, called "prebook security," allows travellers to reserve a 30-minute slot ahead of arrival at the security gates.

The perk is available to all guests and does not require a log-in or registration. It is currently limited to those arriving at security between 3am and 3pm. Once booked, travellers can follow "prebook security" signs to a dedicated entry point where staff will process them.

How to book a security slot

Passengers can book the service from four days before their flight until 60 minutes before they arrive at security, subject to availability. The airport's official guidance states: "You can prebook this service from 4 days before your arrival, right up until 60 minutes before you arrive at security, subject to availability."

Booking is free and does not require an account. Travellers simply enter their departure date, flight details, and group size, plus a name and email address. A QR code is sent to the email, which must be scanned upon arrival.

The system operates on a first-come, first-served basis, processing passengers in the order they arrive. Slots are limited and may book up fast, so booking four days ahead is recommended. The guidance adds: "Slots are limited and may book up fast, so we recommend booking four days before your flight."

Travellers should arrive 15 minutes before or after their booking time, when the QR code will still be valid. LLA says it cannot guarantee how long security checks will take, even with a booking.
