UK Snow Forecast: Arctic -4C Freeze to Hit 31 Counties
Arctic -4C Freeze: Snow to Hit 31 UK Counties

Weather maps from WXCharts indicate that at least 31 counties across Scotland and England could see snow as temperatures drop to as low as -4C at 6am on November 11.

Arctic Blast to Bring Freezing Conditions

The charts show freezing conditions beginning to grip the country next week, with most of Scotland expected to be blanketed in snow. The wintry weather is set to spread into England, with regions near Leicester, Surrey, Birmingham and Oxford in line for flurries, according to the maps.

Temperatures are forecast to fall below zero in many areas as an Arctic blast moves in, with locations closer to Inverness bearing the brunt of the cold. The charts indicate Inverness, Fort William, Perth and Stirling will see temperatures fluctuating between -3C and -4C, while the Midlands could see drops to -1C.

Met Office Warnings and Long-Range Forecast

The predicted snow follows the Met Office issuing multiple yellow warnings for fog across vast areas of the UK in recent days, with thick fog reducing visibility to below 100 metres anticipated in many regions.

The Met Office's long-range forecast for November 6 to 15 states: "High pressure is likely to dominate conditions across much of the UK initially, with large amounts of cloud at times but any amounts of rain or drizzle tending to be small."

"Quite breezy in the south, but a greater chance of some fog patches in northern areas where winds will be lighter. As the high pressure begins to migrate away to the east, frontal systems may attempt to bring some occasional rain to parts of the southwest and/or northwest at times, though exactly how much progress into the UK this makes is uncertain."

"In any case, rainfall is likely to be below average in many areas for this period as a whole, with temperatures initially a little below average before returning to near or slightly above average."
