Newsboy's best bet on Thursday is A Major Payne (7.41) in the RIP Susan Procter Memorial Handicap over 1m2f at Windsor. The Michael Bell-trained five-year-old can prove a thorn in the side for Billy Loughnane's jockeys' title rivals.
A Major Payne's winning chance
Loughnane could have a field day this evening with strong fancies in all six races, but it is A Major Payne who stands out the most. The gelding took 17 attempts to score a first win, when beating nine rivals in a Nottingham handicap in June.
Third three days later carrying a 5lb penalty at Lingfield Park, he then produced a career-best over today's course and distance 31 days ago. Despite a 6lb rise, a third success looks on the cards.
South West to follow up at Lingfield
