STORMY IMPACT is fancied to build on a last-time-out return to form at to land the Leslie Burton (Fisher) Handicap (Div II) (3.50) at Pontefract on Monday.
Appearances at some of British racing’s marquee fixtures – Stormy Impact has raced at Epsom’s Derby meeting, Glorious Goodwood and York’s Ebor Festival – have made for some tough assignments this summer. But a clash with five rivals at Hamilton Park represented a less onerous task for the Richard and Peter Fahey-trained filly, who came home a three-quarter-length second to Jordan Electrics. Stormy Impact did best of the horses to come from the back that day and a 1lb nudge up the weights may not stop Warren Fentiman’s partner from going one better.
Beach Point and Sax Avoidance fancied
At Yarmouth, BEACH POINT, who hit the bullseye under Henry Callan at Goodwood two starts ago, has excellent claims under the amateur’s father Neil in the Haven Seashore Holiday Park Handicap (4.05).
On the back of successes at Salisbury and Kempton Park, SAX AVOIDANCE is ripe for a hat-trick in the Try Unibet's New Improved Acca Boosts Handicap (5.45) at the Sunbury venue.
Powder Monkey seeks three-timer
Also on a three-timer is POWDER MONKEY, who is expected to add to scores at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton when he faces 11 opponents for the final race of the day, Dunstall Park’s Race & Rest – Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Handicap (8.30).
