UK weather maps reveal the hottest parts of Wales this weekend as the Met Office delivers its verdict on a potential heatwave. The Met Office states that temperatures will be "feeling pleasant but not exceptionally warm."
Temperature Rise Across Wales
Temperatures will rise across Wales with more settled conditions also forecast. Earlier forecasts this week predicted temperatures nearing 30C would sweep across the UK this weekend as many geared up for another heatwave this summer. However, whilst it is still expected to be warm and sunny in Wales, it is no longer looking likely that we will see a heatwave as the Met Office states that temperatures will be "feeling pleasant but not exceptionally warm."
This week most of Wales has seen heavy rain and showers but from Friday evening the weather is expected to improve with a shift towards more settled conditions. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 26C in Wales on Sunday but are predicted to be milder on Saturday with further showers possible.
Saturday and Sunday Outlook
Some areas will reach the low 20s on Saturday. After the late May bank holiday heatwave many people have been anticipating the warm weather making a return. The Met Office forecast for Wales from Saturday to Monday reads: "Further showers possible on Saturday. Otherwise becoming increasingly settled on Sunday with drier and warmer conditions developing. Similar on Monday, perhaps feeling very warm in the sunshine."
Sunday is expected to be warmer. Met Office deputy chief meteorologist, Mark Sidaway said: "The weekend will see drier and more settled conditions, especially in the south, with temperatures feeling pleasant but not exceptionally warm for June. By Saturday, warmer conditions will develop for some, reaching the mid 20s, and Sunday will see warm conditions continue, reaching 25 to 26C in the south."
The start of next week is expected to remain warm, with Monday bringing another largely dry and warm day for most. Some uncertainty remains around the temperatures continuing further into next week, and the details will become clearer over the coming days.
