UK Weather Maps Predict 35C Scorcher on Tuesday

Britain is set to experience another scorching heatwave, with the latest weather maps indicating temperatures could reach 35C on Tuesday. The charts from Netweather.tv have turned red, signaling extreme hot weather conditions. The heat is forecast to sweep across the UK around midday on Tuesday (June 23), with temperatures rising further in the afternoon. London is expected to see highs of 35C, while surrounding areas in the South East, South West, southern England, and the Midlands could reach 28C or higher.

Amber Heat Warnings Issued

The Met Office has issued amber extreme heat warnings for much of southern England and southeastern Wales on Monday and Tuesday, warning of potential impacts on people and infrastructure. The heatwave, initially centered on southern and eastern England, is expected to develop over the weekend and continue into early next week. Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Greg Wolverson stated: "While heatwave criteria will be met for some in the south and southeast of England over the weekend, with temperatures into the low 30s Celsius possible, the warmth will expand and intensify at the start of next week, coupled with high temperatures overnight, leading to potential impacts."

Health Alerts and Tropical Nights

The UK Health Security Agency has also issued Heat Health Alerts, highlighting potential health and social care impacts. Wolverson added: "Temperatures will peak around the mid-30s Celsius on Monday and Tuesday. The humidity will also make it feel warmer and more uncomfortable. Tropical nights, where temperatures don't drop below 20C, are also likely for some."
