Scotland's biggest music festival, TRNSMT, returns this weekend at Glasgow Green, starting Friday, June 19, coinciding with Scotland's World Cup match against Morocco. The festival will host the country's largest World Cup fan zone after headliner Richard Ashcroft's set ends at 10:15 pm.
Friday Forecast: Rain and Humidity
Unlike last year's scorching 29°C, this year's opening day will be wet. The Met Office forecasts heavy showers from early morning until late evening, with a 90% chance of rain between 4 am and 4 pm. Humidity will reach 93%, and temperatures will peak at 16°C.
Saturday: Brighter Spells
Saturday, June 20, will see a mix of variable cloud, sunny spells, and light rain. BBC Weather reports that the day will become largely dry with extensive sunshine later. Highs of 18°C are expected from late afternoon to early evening.
Sunday: Best Day of the Weekend
Sunday, June 21, will be the finest day, starting cool at 15°C and rising to sunny 21°C from 3 pm onward, with a low chance of rain. UV levels will be high on Saturday and Sunday, so festival-goers should pack sun cream.
Headliners and Fan Zone
Headliners include Richard Ashcroft (Friday), Kasabian (Saturday), and Lewis Capaldi (Sunday). Other acts: Wolf Alice, Becky Hill, The Snuts, The Frattelis, CMAT, Amy Macdonald, and Perrie. The Friday curfew is extended to 1 am for the World Cup fan zone, featuring three screens, including the main stage's 15m x 8m LED wall.
With a daily capacity of 50,000, Glasgow Green will host more Tartan Army members than Boston Stadium.
