Located on the southern coast of the Gower Peninsula, the expansive sandy beach offers stunning scenery and a tranquil, natural atmosphere. It is a popular spot for water sports, sandcastle building, and paddling. The AA research indicates the bay enjoys an average of 202 hours of sunlight in July, making it ideal for summer day trips.
One recent visitor on Tripadvisor said: "We spent the day at Port Eynon Beach and absolutely loved it. It's a gorgeous spot with stunning coastal views, plenty of space, and lovely clean sand. The kids had a great time exploring the rock pools and paddling in the sea, while we just relaxed and enjoyed the fresh air and scenery." Another reviewer noted: "Not the place for amusement arcades and kiss-me-quick hats. Just the place for swimming, rock pooling, long walks and superb views. A family-friendly beach, much loved by the locals."
Comparison with Top-Ranked Beach
The number one safest beach was Exmouth Beach, which scored high for its on-site RNLI lifeboat station and lifeguard presence throughout the summer. Exmouth also boasts a 4.7-star Google rating and reasonably priced parking at £5 for the day, according to the AA research. Port Eynon Bay remains a strong contender for families seeking a safe, clean, and scenic seaside destination in Wales.
