Rescuers are searching an area off the Welsh coast for a man who vanished after heading on a rock climbing trip. A boat and helicopter from the coastguard have been scrambled to search for the missing man, named only as Ben, who is said to be from St. Davids.
Search underway in Pembrokeshire
The emergency crews are searching for Ben in an area on the coast of Pembrokeshire after the 47-year-old was last spoken to by his family at around midday on Wednesday, according to police. It is believed he intended to go rock climbing, either in the Carreg y Barcud area, near Trelerw, or Caer Bwdy Bay, outside St Davids, Wales Online reports.
Description of missing man
Dyfed-Powys Police said Ben is described as around 5ft 11in tall, of athletic build, with short brown/greying hair and brown eyes. He was carrying an orange bag and wearing black climbing shoes with an orange strap at the time he went missing.
