One user, posting on the Sky Community forum, said they were told by Virgin Media's helpdesk that they could add Sky Atlantic by contacting Sky, as they already had Sky Sports and Sky Movies in their package.
However, other forum users quickly corrected this, pointing out that Sky Atlantic is only available via Sky's own services or through Now TV. 'As you are not a Sky TV customer, your only option is via NowTV,' one user wrote, adding that Virgin Media's advice was incorrect.
The confusion comes as Virgin Media announced the launch of Sky Atlantic on its platform earlier this week, but the channel is only available to customers with specific packages. The forum discussion highlights ongoing issues with customer service and the complexity of TV package deals in the UK.
Meanwhile, Sky continues to invest heavily in original content, with a recent premiere of 'Amadeus' at a London cinema costing an estimated £30,000.
