Season 2 of Call of Duty Warzone is officially here, bringing a substantial refresh to the immensely popular Battle Royale experience. This major update, which aligns with the concurrent launch for Black Ops 7, introduces a suite of new features designed to revitalise gameplay for veterans and newcomers alike.
Warzone Season 2 Global Release Schedule
The Season 2 update is scheduled to go live in Warzone at 5:00 PM GMT on Wednesday, February 5, 2026. For players around the world, here is the corresponding release time in various key time zones:
- 4:00 AM AEDT (Thursday, February 6)
- 9:00 PM GST
- 6:00 PM CET
- 12:00 PM EST
- 9:00 AM PST
Players must download the update before accessing the new seasonal content. PC users on Battle.net have the advantage of pre-loading the patch, which is a substantial 41 GB download. However, Steam users and those on PlayStation and Xbox consoles will need to wait until the 5:00 PM GMT launch time to begin downloading the update, which is also expected to be approximately 40 GB on these platforms. Gamers should plan their play sessions accordingly to account for this significant download time.
Exciting New Features in Warzone Season 2
Season 2 delivers a wealth of new content and gameplay enhancements. The headline addition is the introduction of Ranked Play, a competitive mode where dedicated players can test their skills against similarly motivated opponents and strive to ascend the global leaderboards.
The update also introduces several new limited-time modes, offering varied gameplay experiences:
- Loaded Resurgence
- Loaded Resurgence Casual
- Rush Resurgence
- Iron Gauntlet
Many of these new modes will be set on the dramatically transformed Rebirth Island. The map has received a complete winter makeover, now blanketed in snow and featuring a major new point of interest: a massive Turbine structure on the northern coast.
Furthermore, a new dynamic world event will occur during matches. Random gas explosions around the map will temporarily lock off certain areas at the start of a round, compelling players to adapt their strategies instantly and adding an unpredictable layer to each match.
Alongside these map and mode changes, players can expect a range of new weapons added to the arsenal, as well as ongoing updates to the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system to help maintain fair play. For a comprehensive breakdown of all changes, adjustments, and new content, the full Warzone Season 2 patch notes are available on the official Call of Duty blog.
The Season 2 update will be available simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms starting at 5:00 PM GMT today.
