The New Jersey gambling industry has reported a spectacular surge in revenue, driven by an unprecedented boom in iGaming. Official data reveals the market is experiencing growth across all sectors, painting a picture of a thriving industry.
Record-Breaking Revenue Figures
According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the state's total gaming revenue for October reached a staggering $611.1 million. This represents a substantial 22.3 per cent increase compared to the $499.8 million recorded in October 2024. Furthermore, it shows an 8.4 per cent growth from the previous month of September.
The standout performer was the iGaming sector, which shattered records by bringing in $260.3 million in a single month. This is the first time online gaming revenue has ever surpassed the $250 million mark, marking a huge 21.8 per cent year-on-year leap. A detailed report from iGaming Business indicated that the vast majority of this, $257.7 million, was generated from online slots and table games alone.
Casinos and Sports Betting Show Strong Growth
While iGaming led the charge, the state's traditional casino hotels also enjoyed a highly profitable period. New Jersey's nine casino hotels collectively raked in $234.7 million, a healthy 12.5 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Sports betting, legal in the state since 2018, continues its impressive trajectory. Although its total revenue of $116.1 million was lower than that of casinos and iGaming, it demonstrated the most explosive growth. Sports betting revenues shot up by a remarkable 49.8 per cent year-on-year, the largest increase of any sector.
Year-to-Date Totals and Economic Impact
The strong performance in October has significantly boosted the state's cumulative figures for the year. The year-to-date revenue for sports betting alone has reached $914.6 million across both online and retail platforms.
Most impressively, the total gaming revenue for New Jersey from January through October now stands at a colossal $5.74 billion. This equates to a 10 per cent growth compared to the same period last year. This boom has also delivered a major financial benefit to the state, with total gross revenue taxes collected in 2025 already amounting to $699.9 million.
