The new Insta360 Mic brings professional audio features at a more affordable price than the premium Insta360 Mic Pro, starting at £129.
The accessory includes a single microphone (transmitter) and a receiver that plugs into a recording device such as a phone or camera. It is around £50 cheaper than the Mic Pro but still includes the E-Ink display on the microphone itself.
Customisable E-Ink Display and Wireless Audio
The E-Ink display can be changed via the Insta360 app to suit the user's style. There are pre-set options to choose from, or users can add their own image, including unique logo branding for a more polished look to videos.
Sound from the mic can be beamed wirelessly to the receiver, but there is also a built-in microSD slot that records audio directly to a memory card. This uses 32-bit float audio, which captures a far wider dynamic range than conventional recording, keeping audio free of distortion and preserving more detail for post-production.
AI Noise Reduction and Gain Modes
The Insta360 Mic comes with a dedicated AI audio processing chip that powers noise reduction and suppresses background noise more effectively, so voices remain clean even in bustling areas.
The mic gets two automatic gain modes: Auto mode helps prevent clipping, while Dynamic mode balances volume changes for more consistent loudness. Three voice tone presets—Regular, Rich, and Bright—are also included, letting users add brightness or a deeper, fuller sound while keeping the natural character of voices.
Battery Life and Pricing
Along with the single-mic option, it can be bought as a bundle with two mics for recording interviews or when multiple people join the shot. A carry case is included that keeps everything safe and charges the mics and receiver simultaneously. Once fully charged, the transmitter runs for up to 13 hours, with a total of 34 hours thanks to the case's built-in battery pack.
The Insta360 Mic is available now. Pricing is £129 for the single transmitter and £229 for the dual transmitters.
