Revolut customers are among those affected by a service disruption linked to an outage on Google’s Cloud network. The fintech, which serves millions of customers in the UK, reported issues affecting card payments, transfers, cash withdrawals and account sign-ins.
More than 1,500 people logged problems with Revolut earlier on Tuesday morning, according to the Downdetector platform.
Revolut Confirms Disruption
A Revolut spokesperson said: “We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services.”
“We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe.”
“We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.”
Google Cloud Issue in London Region
The issue is understood to be linked to an IT incident affecting Google Cloud. Google reported a problem with multiple services in the “Europe-west2” region, believed to be London, since late evening on Monday.
Google said this was causing Cloud services to experience errors and intermittent network failures. “Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue,” Google said on its service health page. “We apologise to all who are affected by the disruption.”
Wider Impact on Other Platforms
Hundreds of Lloyds Bank and HSBC users were also reporting issues to Downdetector, along with users of platforms such as Royal Mail, DPD and Rightmove.
