In a head-to-head test of budget window cleaning sprays, Mr Muscle Window and Glass Cleaner outperformed white vinegar spray, removing months of grime instantly while the vinegar required multiple applications and significant elbow grease.
The Test Setup
Multimedia content creator Nicola Roy tested two budget-friendly cleaning sprays on her kitchen windows, which she described as the dirtiest in her flat. She used Mr Muscle Window and Glass Cleaner, purchased for £1.99 from Savers (also available at Tesco for £2.50), and Stardrops White Vinegar Spray, which typically costs around £1.19 from The Range or Wilko.
White Vinegar Results
For the lower portion of the window, Roy applied the white vinegar spray on both sides, left it for a couple of minutes, and buffed it off with a cloth. However, the first attempt barely made a dent, leaving the glass almost as grubby as before. She repeated the process three times, eventually shifting the marks after about 15 minutes of effort. Roy noted that white vinegar had never let her down previously but fell short in this test.
Mr Muscle Performance
Testing Mr Muscle on the top pane, Roy applied it to both the inside and outside. The moment she began wiping, stubborn marks disappeared with the very first wipe, and a second application was unnecessary. The product has a 4.7 out of five-star rating on the Mr Muscle website, with one reviewer stating: "What a remarkable difference! One spray and the dirt wiped off without effort."
Overall Verdict
Roy concluded that Mr Muscle was an absolute breeze to use compared to white vinegar and worth the slightly higher price. She plans to use it for the remaining windows in her flat.
