Luton Airport offers free security queue skip service

London Luton Airport (LLA) is offering passengers a free service called "Prebook Security" that allows them to skip security queues by reserving a 30-minute slot ahead of their arrival. The service is available daily between 3am and 3pm, and booking is completely free with no login or registration required.

How the free service works

Travellers can book a slot from 4 days before their arrival up until 60 minutes before they reach security, subject to availability. On the day, passengers follow the "Prebook Security" signs to a dedicated entry point, where a staff member scans their QR code and directs them to the front of the line. The service is first-come, first-served, and passengers are processed in the order they arrive along with other pre-booked travellers.

Children aged four and under do not need to be included in the group size, but children aged five and over must be counted when booking. To change or cancel a booking, passengers can use the options on their confirmation page or links in the confirmation email.

Booking details and requirements

No account or login is needed to book. Passengers must provide their departure date, flight details (destination, airline, and flight number), and group size, along with a name and email address to receive a QR code. The airport advises allowing extra time for baggage check-in, as slots are limited and may book up fast.

If a passenger arrives late for their appointment, the airport reassures that the QR code remains valid if they arrive within 15 minutes before or after their booking time. The airport notes that using Prebook Security does not guarantee how long security checks will take.
