Barcola says yes to Liverpool; Mac Allister back at Anfield

Bradley Barcola has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool, saying 'yes' to a move to Anfield. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are in 'direct, official conversation', with Paris Saint-Germain's £145million valuation still the main obstacle. PSG's potential pursuit of Barcelona forward Ferran Torres could pave the way for Barcola's transfer.

Mac Allister returns to training

World Cup star Alexis Mac Allister has returned to Liverpool following an extended holiday. The Argentina international reached the final of the major tournament but fell to a 1-0 defeat against Spain. Now, the midfielder is back at the AXA Training Centre, where he was welcomed back by teammates including Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.

Iraola's winger wishlist

New manager Andoni Iraola has admitted that a winger is at the top of his wishlist, calling it an 'obvious situation' that the club has to change. Speaking in July, he said: 'No, I think it's difficult to say a number when the market is open, and you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad.'

'There are obvious situations that we know where we need to sign players. A winger, for example – we definitely need to sign a winger. But there are other situations that we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what's the cost, how we also see the players we have. We have some tricky positions where we have injured players that we trust but is still not the ideal situation. So, it will depend on a lot of things.'

The Reds have been linked with other wide options, including PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye, Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, and Bournemouth's Rayan. Attention now turns to getting back up to speed as Iraola's inaugural season at Anfield is set to begin.
