A Portsmouth supporter has died following a medical emergency outside Fratton Park before the club's Championship match against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The incident occurred just before kick-off, and despite the efforts of emergency services, the fan tragically passed away. Portsmouth FC confirmed the news in a statement, expressing their 'deepest condolences' to the family and loved ones.
The club thanked the South Central Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance, and club staff for their efforts. Portsmouth won the match 3-0, but the victory was overshadowed by the tragic events.
This is the second such incident involving Portsmouth in recent months. In December, a Charlton Athletic fan died after a medical emergency during a match at The Valley.
