Two paparazzi photographers were spotted outside Archie and Lilibet's school in a fresh security scare for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to reports. US media outlets claim the international snappers were seen by the Sussexes' security team near the children's new school.
Photographers' car logged as rental
According to Newsweek, Prince Harry and Meghan's protection officers logged the registration number of the car the photographers were using, though it turned out to be a rental. The incident allegedly occurred on Monday and will have heightened security worries for the Duke and Duchess.
Since relocating from the US, Harry and Meghan have voiced their concerns about safety. These fears led them to withdraw Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from their original new school after the convoy of vehicles travelling there became separated in heavy traffic.
Home Office review continues
The Home Office continues to conduct a review into whether the family should receive taxpayer-funded protection. It's understood to be something Harry has tried to secure on multiple occasions since losing it in 2020 when he chose to step away from royal duties.
The pictures thought to have been taken by the photographers have not been published by any British media outlets.
Earl Spencer draws parallels with Diana
Speaking about his nephew recently, Earl Spencer drew parallels between the treatment of Harry and Meghan and that of his late sister, Diana. He told CNN: "The general conduct of the press, you know, even the worst editors at the time who were paying the paparazzi to pursue Diana even into that final tunnel in Paris, they learned something years later."
"And some of them have actually confessed, they know they had a hand in her death. Now, that's quite a big thing to live with and I think it did change the behaviour, and it's not as bad now." Nevertheless, he also called for Harry and Meghan to receive security protection. The Sussexes' spokesperson has been contacted for comment.
