The Maltings in Old Hall, Warrington, has been named the best pub in the UK for dogs at the Great British Pub Awards 2026. The accolade recognises pubs that go beyond simply allowing dogs inside, with The Maltings offering an 'a la bark' menu featuring treats, afternoon tea, and full dog dinners, as well as parties and events for special occasions like birthdays all year round.
More than just dog-friendly
The pub provides pets with water, blankets, toys, and a number of sticks to enjoy, with all dogs greeted by name by the staff. The Great British Pub Awards celebrate the breadth and diversity of the modern British pub, with this year's winners showcasing the many different roles pubs play in their communities. Alongside the overall winner, accolades were awarded across 16 different categories, including 'best community pub', 'best pub garden', and 'best country pub'.
