The Scout, the UK's award-winning tipster, has released his top six horse racing picks for the week, headlined by improving filly Earth Shot in the Group One Juddmonte Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Saturday. The daughter of Time Test, recently added to the Wathnan Racing ranks, impressed at Royal Ascot with a visually striking performance in her new silks.
Earth Shot Eyed for Irish Oaks Glory
Jockey James Doyle settled Earth Shot off a fast early pace set by Venetia, while the attentions of the loose Lady Roisia hindered that rival. Despite being wide on the home turn and losing several lengths, Earth Shot regathered momentum and, despite running around under pressure, picked up strongly to edge ahead of Johanna Walsh at the right time. Still green, Earth Shot is open to improvement on her fifth career start and can confirm placings with runner-up Johanna Walsh, whose trainer Joseph O'Brien also has English Oaks heroine Thundering On and unbeaten Rebel Moon entered.
Wednesday Tips: Yokkell and Knock Three Times
At Bath on Wednesday, YOKKELL (4.31), rated in the 80s for previous connections, runs in a weak 0-60 event. The top weight showed capability at Leicester in April, making considerable late ground for third. Easy recent scorer Quantum Swift and Ron's Angel, unplaced in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, should win more races, but The Scout opts for KNOCK THREE TIMES (6.50), whose form was franked by Dark Issue and looks on a suitable weight back up to six furlongs.
Uttoxeter Handicap Chase Selection
THEONLYWAYISWESSEX (4.18) had plenty in hand over 2m 4f at Warwick 42 days ago and Alan King's trainee goes for a double at the distance in Uttoxeter's Alfie Flatt 18th Birthday Celebration Handicap Chase. The pick looks more straightforward than Le Gentleman, who missed the last at Bangor and may have had little left. He is 2lb higher here, while Pep Talking is consistent but weighted to his best and vulnerable to a closer.
Thursday and Friday Picks
On Thursday, back-to-form JANNAS JOURNEY (4.00) appears on the cusp of another sequence, having managed seven wins throughout 2025. At Friday's Listed Apple Print & Creative Rose Bowl Stakes, NABATI (4.10), an 850,000 guineas yearling for Godolphin, can take his next step towards the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes at York.
The Scout's tips offer a mix of improving horses and consistent performers across multiple meetings this week.
