Man United Handed Clear Deadline in Liverpool Race for £35m Star
Man United Given Deadline in Liverpool Race for Star

Manchester United have been handed a clear deadline if they want to complete the signing of Juventus star Khephren Thuram. United have been credited with an interest in signing the France international as the summer transfer window rolls on.

United's Midfield Plans

United are yet to make their first signing of the window, but have already agreed a deal that will see their midfield options strengthened. Atalanta star Ederson has agreed to become a United player, with the Reds paying the Serie A giants a £35million initial fee with the potential for £3.8million more in add-ons.

Now it seems that another midfielder may be on United's shortlist of summer targets, as they look to replace the outgoing Casemiro, who will leave Old Trafford at the end of this month when his contract expires.

Thuram's Potential Move

According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Thuram has emerged as a target for United, who is also said to be a player of interest to Liverpool. Nottingham Forest are also a potential destination for the 25-year-old midfielder, as is the Saudi Pro League with Al Ahli.

The report claims that Juventus value Thuram at between £34.7million (€40m) and £39million (£45m) this summer as they look to raise money for the end of the club's financial year. As a result, Thuram is a player who is mentioned in the report as potentially being allowed to leave Turin this summer, as they look to raise up to €13million (£11.3million) in profit before June 30, the final day of the 2025/26 financial year.

Other Juventus Departures

Thuram is not the only player that Juventus are reportedly considering selling this summer, with Andrea Cambiaso and Gleison Bremer mentioned as players who could depart, and it's the same for Michele Di Gregorio, Jonathan David, Federico Gatti, Juan Cabal and Fabio Miretti.

Premier League Season Ahead

United do not have long to wait before the Premier League season gets underway, with their full fixture list confirmed on Friday. Michael Carrick and Co. will begin the season away at Hull City on August 22, before hosting fellow newly-promoted club Ipswich Town the following week on August 29 at Old Trafford.
