Fire crews have issued an update after a blaze broke out at Exeter City FC's St James Park stadium overnight. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 10.10pm on Wednesday following reports of a fire affecting one of the stands.

The fire involved an electrical consumer unit, which spread to an adjacent portacabin and outside storage area. Around 60% of the portacabin was damaged, along with electrical cupboards and intake. Three fire appliances and an aerial ladder platform were initially dispatched.

Crews used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one safety jet, hydraulic rescue equipment, two positive pressure ventilation fans, and three thermal imaging cameras to tackle the blaze. A fire investigation will be concluded during daylight hours.

Police have yet to comment on the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
