Andoni Iraola will face the media for the first time as Liverpool head coach on Monday morning at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, marking his official public introduction. The press conference is scheduled for 11am.
Appointment and Background
Iraola was appointed at the start of June after Arne Slot was sacked following a disappointing defence of the record-equalling 20th championship that was sealed in dominant fashion during the Dutchman's debut season in charge. The new boss, who was most recently at Bournemouth, began his role at the AXA Training Centre earlier this week.
He has already been working with a number of first-team players who returned early for preparatory work before the majority begin pre-season next Tuesday.
Pre-Season Plans
After a week at the AXA Training Centre, Liverpool will fly out to the United States on Monday, July 20 for a camp ahead of a three-game tour. During the tour, they will play Sunderland, Leeds United and Wrexham.
The Reds will be without their World Cup representatives at the start, although it is hoped Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Alisson Becker will play some part in the tour. However, Alexis Mac Allister and new signing Victor Munoz, who have reached the last eight with Argentina and Spain respectively, are unlikely to link up with their team-mates until after they return from the States.
