Hundreds of dogs have enjoyed an annual dip in a swimming pool, with adorable footage capturing the pooches gleefully leaping and swimming at the Gourock Outdoor Pool.
The pets are given the opportunity to use the facilities in a one-off experience before the pool is drained and cleaned over the autumn and winter months.
This year, the heated pool closed to the public on 28 September, with the day marking the seventh dog and owner swim since the idea came about in 2019.
Six sold-out sessions
Around 240 pairs of owners and dogs are expected to visit the venue in Scotland across the day. Cathy Murray, from Dumbarton, visited this morning's session with her pup Guinness.
She said: "It's absolutely fabulous - Guinness has had a ball. He's loved it.
"He quite enjoys the swim - and this is great for me because the water's warm!"
Growing popularity
Facilities manager Mark McFarlane said: "Across the day, we have six sessions, and each session takes place over 45 minutes. All the sessions have sold out, and we've had a great time."
"It's certainly grown in size - initially, we had one swim at the end of the season, but we've now expanded.
"Over the course of the day, we're expecting to see about 240 people and 240 dogs."
Mark said the best part was "seeing the sheer joy on the owners' faces" when the dogs get to go in the water for the first time. He added: "There are a few dogs that get quite nervous when they go in for the first time - but once they're in, they really enjoy it."
