Scots can watch the iconic Halloween film Hocus Pocus at an outdoor cinema in Falkirk next month. The screening is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at Callendar House, where viewers can sit amongst the autumn trees and watch the Sanderson Sisters under the stars.
Event details and timings
Adventure Cinema is hosting the Hocus Pocus Spooktacular, encouraging customers to bring their favourite snacks and arrive in fancy dress. Gates open at 5pm, with a specially curated spooky soundtrack playing ahead of the screening at 6:30pm. The film is set to wrap up at 8:05pm.
The event will broadcast the original 1993 Disney film, featuring Bette Midler as Winifred, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah, and Kathy Najimy as Mary. The story follows the Sanderson sisters after they return from 17th century Salem, having been accidentally conjured by a group of pranksters. They attempt to cast a spell over the town to reclaim their youth.
Ticket prices and what to bring
A standard ticket costs £17.37, while under 12s can get in for £10.92. With these tickets, guests can bring their own blanket or camping chair. Those who arrive earlier are more likely to find a space closer to the screen.
For those wanting a guaranteed front-row seat, a treat bag filled with snacks, and a cosy blanket to take home, the director's view ticket costs £46.49. Hot food and snacks will be available, as well as an on-site bar. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics, but alcohol must be purchased only from the on-site bar and no glass is allowed. Dogs are not allowed at the event, with the exception of assistance or guide dogs.
Other films at Callendar House
Callendar House is also hosting other films at the outdoor cinema that weekend. On Friday, October 9, there will be a screening of Scream for fans 18 and over, with gates opening at 6pm. On October 10, Coco will be shown, with gates opening at 12 for an afternoon of fun, magic and music.
