Hamilton Ends Ferrari Drought with Barcelona Win

Lewis Hamilton secured a triumphant victory for Scuderia Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday, ending a prolonged winless streak and silencing critics who doubted his form. The 41-year-old seven-time world champion claimed his 106th grand prix win with a flawless drive, capitalizing on Ferrari's strategic three-pit-stop approach.

Hamilton Overcomes Self-Doubt

After starting second behind Mercedes' George Russell, Hamilton delivered a sparkling performance to secure his first win since 2023. Reflecting on the drought, Hamilton admitted he questioned his abilities. "After a year like last year, there were definitely moments I thought maybe it's true that when you get to a certain age, you lose it," he said. "But I've proven you don't. You always have it. It takes work, perseverance, and constant self-belief."

Hamilton acknowledged the negativity he faced on social media during his early struggles with Ferrari. "I'm only human. There were moments I let it penetrate deeply. But I spent time with family and real friends who never doubted me. From Christmas Day, I trained harder than ever."

Team and Rival Praise

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur praised Hamilton's resilience. "He faced tough moments, struggling to build relationships with the team. But he kept pushing every day at the factory." Mercedes boss Toto Wolff also congratulated Hamilton, saying, "He's worked so hard. If it's not our turn to win, it should be Lewis."

Hamilton now trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 41 points after the Italian's late retirement. "I've rebuilt my mind to get back to where I was," Hamilton said. "I'll probably sleep in this red top tonight—it's a good feeling to have the horse on there."

Wolff also joked about Hamilton's relationship with Kim Kardashian, saying, "Maybe the girlfriend helps."
