Earlier Disruptions Across the Network
The incident follows two earlier problems for commuters this morning. The District line was suspended early on Tuesday morning due to a faulty train but has since reopened, with service returning to normal after several hours.
Elsewhere, a fire erupted next to train tracks between Gatwick Airport and Purley. The blaze caused delays but was quickly brought under control, and rail services to the airport have resumed normal operations.
Current Status of Other Lines
Severe delays have also been reported on the eastbound service of the Central line following an earlier faulty train at Notting Hill Gate, with minor delays on the rest of the line. Delays on the District line have been reduced to 'minor' after a faulty train at Earl's Court earlier this morning, with tickets being accepted on London buses.
Minor delays are affecting the Victoria, Central, Circle and Metropolitan lines. A faulty train at High Street Kensington is causing minor delays on the Circle line. On the Northern line, minor delays are reported between Camden Town and Kennington via Bank southbound only due to a person being taken unwell at Angel. There are also minor delays on the DLR between Woolwich Arsenal and Stratford International due to an earlier electrical fault at the latter.
