Chelsea forward Cole Palmer is reportedly open to a sensational summer transfer to Manchester United, the club he supported as a boy, amid claims he is unsettled at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old England international joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million two-and-a-half years ago but is now being linked with a return to the North West.
According to The Sun, Palmer would welcome interest from United, though he would not consider a return to City while Pep Guardiola remains in charge. United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, is a known admirer of Palmer, having seen him develop through the City academy during his previous role there.
Palmer, who signed a contract extension until 2033 last season, has been hampered by injuries in the 2025-26 campaign, making only 13 appearances. He missed Chelsea's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday due to a thigh issue. Reports suggest he is homesick, missing his hometown of Wythenshawe.
New Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has addressed the speculation, stating: 'I've had numerous conversations with Cole and he seems very happy to be here. He's a huge part in our long-term plans.' Rosenior added that Palmer was frustrated after the Brentford game and that the club is managing his fitness carefully.
