Rashford's representatives are said to have been in contact with Barcelona officials in recent days to clarify the club's position regarding his future. Nevertheless, Manchester United's position remains clear: they will only consider a permanent sale. If Barcelona decline to pay the £26 million fee and no other buyer emerges in the interim, Rashford would return to Old Trafford for pre-season training following this summer's World Cup tournament.
