A video showing Donald Trump limping has raised new questions about his golf victory at his Bedminster club, with skeptics questioning how he could have shot a 70 just days earlier.
Trump's Claimed Victory
Over the weekend, Trump declared himself the winner of both the club and senior championships at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf facility, posting a score of 70 to finish two-under par. He shared a video of his final putt on Truth Social, captioned: "The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship!"
In a post, Trump thanked participants and boasted: "I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I'm given very little time to practice, because I'm focused on many other things. It's called TALENT, and I have it, and they don't!"
Limping Video Raises Doubts
However, footage of the 80-year-old disembarking from Marine One on Tuesday showed him carefully descending the staircase and walking across the tarmac with what appeared to be a slight limp. The video, widely shared on social media, drew mockery from viewers.
One X user sarcastically posted: "That body shot a 70 and won a tourney two days ago." Another commented: "Firing that 70 on the links two days ago sure took a lot of him." A third remarked: "Your reigning and defending Bedminster Golf Club Champion everyone."
Trump's Golfing Record Questioned
Despite his busy schedule, Trump has spent 125 days on the golf course since returning to the White House in January, according to Did Trump Golf Today? That represents roughly 22.2% of his presidency.
Trump, who claims a 2.8 handicap with the USGA, has also said he has won at least 40 club championships across his 15 golf properties worldwide. Sports journalist Rick Reilly, author of the 2019 book Commander in Cheat, has disputed such claims.
In 2019, Reilly told Vox: "Trump's going around telling people he has won 20. But that's 100 percent a lie. I actually played with him once, and he told me how he does it. Whenever he opens a new golf course, because he owns 14 and operates another five, he plays the first club champion by himself and declares that the club championship and puts his name on the wall."
