Jurgen Klopp has agreed to become the new manager of the Germany national team, according to reports. The former Liverpool boss will return to his homeland to take charge of Die Mannschaft.
Klopp's Return to Germany
Klopp, 57, left Liverpool at the end of last season after nine years at Anfield. He has been linked with several jobs since, but has now decided to take on the Germany role.
The German Football Association (DFB) is expected to confirm the appointment in the coming days. Klopp will replace Hansi Flick, who was sacked in September after a poor run of results.
Contract Details
Klopp has signed a contract until after the 2026 World Cup. His first game in charge is likely to be a friendly in March.
Germany are hosting Euro 2024 next summer, but Klopp will not take charge until after the tournament. Julian Nagelsmann will remain as head coach for the Euros.
