Two-time Olympian Denisa Hurban Baránková has died at the age of 24 after being struck by a car in Bratislava, Slovakia. The incident also injured an 11-year-old girl.

The collision occurred in the Petržalka district of Bratislava. Baránková was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died despite medical efforts. The 11-year-old girl was also injured. Police investigations are ongoing.
Olympic Career and Achievements
Baránková represented Slovakia at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She made history as the first Slovak archer to qualify for the World Games and won gold in field archery at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China. She first represented Slovakia internationally in 2017.
