Adam Peaty will compete under his new double-barrelled surname, Ramsay-Peaty, for the first time at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this year. The swimmer officially changed his name after marrying Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, in December 2025.
Wedding Controversy and Name Change
The couple's wedding at Bath Abbey was marred by a family rift and a scuffle with photographers involving Holly and Gordon Ramsay. Following the marriage, Peaty adopted the name Adam Ramsay-Peaty.
Growing Family
The couple announced they are expecting a baby girl in December, which Peaty said he was "incredibly excited" about. This will be Holly's first child; Peaty already has a son, George, from a previous relationship.
Focus on Swimming
Peaty urged the public to concentrate on his athletic performance. Speaking to The Independent, he said: "That's the beauty of sport. If you can find that state of mind, it's an incredible place to be... That's the Adam people should see – the racer. Everything else is my private life."
Commonwealth Games Schedule
Competing as Adam Ramsay-Peaty, he is scheduled for the 100m breaststroke heats on Friday morning. If he qualifies, the semi-finals follow Friday evening, with the final on Saturday night.
Commonwealth Achievements
Peaty's Commonwealth record includes 100m breaststroke golds in 2014 and 2018, a gold and two silvers in the 50m breaststroke, and a gold and silver in the 4x100 medley.
