Wishaw host Shotts Bon Accord in a West of Scotland Cup First Round derby on Saturday, with old pals Johnny Fallon and John McKeown in opposite dugouts. The match at the Beltane kicks off at 2pm.
Underdogs and history
Wishaw boss Fallon admitted his side will be massive underdogs, with his team four divisions below Shotts. The duo played together at Cowdenbeath and McKeown was assistant to Fallon's dad at Wishaw before taking the manager's job there himself.
Fallon told Lanarkshire Live Sport: "It is always good when you come up against higher opposition because it is a good chance for our players to test themselves.
"John and I are old team-mates. We played together at Cowdenbeath and John was actually assistant to my dad at Wishaw before John got the manager's job there himself, so there is a wee bit of history.
"I have always got on well with John but let's not be under any illusions; our aim will probably be to try and keep the score down.
"If we can stay in the game as long as we can, be as competitive as we can be, and you just never know in a cup tie what can happen.
"I'll be telling the players to go and enjoy the occasion, play with no fear and see what happens.
"Fingers crossed we can go and get something and, if not, we make sure we represent the club properly."
Favourites' caution
McKeown, who won promotion as Wishaw boss in 2014, wants to avoid complacency from his Shotts side as they go into the tie as huge favourites.
He said: "It is a tricky one for us because they have nothing to lose with a Premier club coming to town, so they'll fancy it.
"We just need to approach it professionally and match their enthusiasm.
"Wishaw is where it all started for me and I know Johnny really well. I'm sure he will turn their fortunes around. But I am looking forward to it. It will be an interesting cup tie.
"These games are always banana skins. I have been of both ends of it my career.
"Wishaw knocked my Cumnock team out of a cup when I just took over there and I have given out some giant-killings in my time, so we just need to make sure we can get the goals we need and cut out the silly mistakes at the back."
