Rice: Arsenal togetherness 'nothing like I have seen before'

Declan Rice said Arsenal's defensive togetherness is "nothing like I have seen before" after the Gunners secured a narrow victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

Kai Havertz's early tap-in secured all three points for Arsenal, who registered their first win at Anfield since 2012 and moved two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Rice's man-of-the-match display

Rice was the best player on the pitch, with the England midfielder at the heart of proceedings for Arsenal throughout the encounter. He got the assist for Havertz's goal, which came after Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker surrendered possession in a dangerous area.

Rice was rewarded for his influential display with the man-of-the-match award, but was quick to insist that he was not the only standout performer for Arsenal.

Team effort praised

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "This can go to anyone today."

Rice added: "That defensive line we have, that togetherness we have, it's nothing like I have seen before."

"The manager had a really honest conversation with me, he still thinks I can do more for this club and this badge."
