Liverpool XI vs Arsenal: Szoboszlai and Munoz injury boosts for Anfield clash
Liverpool vs Arsenal: Szoboszlai and Munoz return doubts for Anfield

Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz could both return for Liverpool in today's Premier League showdown with Arsenal at Anfield.

Szoboszlai, the reigning Player of the Season, has been managing a persistent hamstring injury since the international break. He lasted just 32 minutes on his return to action at Brentford earlier this month and has sat out five of the last six matches in total.

Team News and Expected Returns

Summer signing Munoz scored in that Brentford game but has not played since due to a right knee problem sustained in the second half.

Andoni Iraola made sweeping changes for Liverpool's Carabao Cup win over Chelsea in midweek, but Alisson Becker, Jeremy Jacquet, Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister, Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola and Alexander Isak are all expected to return to the starting lineup against Arsenal.

Barcelona loanee Ronald Araujo, who played in central defence on Wednesday night, is set to resume his regular role at right-back in the absence of the injured Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.

Defensive and Midfield Reshuffle

That change would see captain Virgil van Dijk, whose minutes were managed in midweek, resume his partnership with Jacquet at the heart of Liverpool's defence.

Ryan Gravenberch played the full 90 minutes against Chelsea and should also get the nod to face Arsenal, partnering Mac Allister in midfield.

Wirtz emerged as an injury scare after suffering an ankle issue in the win over Brighton but recovered in time to feature against Chelsea and prove his fitness for the Arsenal game.

Predicted Lineup and Availability

The form of Barcola, Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha means that Munoz is unlikely to start even if passed fit, though Szoboszlai is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Liverpool when available.

Predicted Liverpool vs Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak

Injured: Leoni, Ekitike, Bradley, Frimpong. Doubts: Szoboszlai, Munoz.

The match kicks off at 4.30pm GMT on Sunday November 1, 2026, at Anfield and will be broadcast on Sky Sports.
