Jac Morgan hailed after Gloucester's 23-5 win over Bath

Wales flanker Jac Morgan delivered a standout performance as Gloucester beat arch-rivals Bath 23-5 at Kingsholm, with the 26-year-old making 20 tackles without missing one, adding 12 carries, two linebreaks and a crucial breakdown steal.

Dominant display earns rave reviews

Morgan, who joined Gloucester from the Ospreys in the summer, has quickly become a key figure in the Cherry & Whites' rise to the top of the Gallagher Premiership table. Gloucester spent part of the match down to 13 men but held Bath out with a strong defensive effort, with Freddie Thomas and Max Llewellyn also crossing for tries.

Gloucester head coach George Skivington praised Morgan's work ethic, telling TNT Sports: "He turns up for training every day. He never looks for a soft day. He's all in, all out. Any drills, Jac's going to go hard and he's going to turn up every day for work."

Biggar compares Morgan to Lawes

Wales legend Dan Biggar, now a pundit, compared Morgan to England great Courtney Lawes, saying: "He's a little bit like Courtney Lawes in a way. When he speaks in training or in a match everyone listens because of his actions."

Morgan has also drawn praise on social media, with former Gloucester lock Ed Slater tweeting "Jac Morgan, is he human?" and one X user calling him "the greatest rugby player I've ever seen".

Nations Championship on the horizon

Morgan's form comes ahead of Wales' Nations Championship fixtures next month against Japan, New Zealand and Australia at the Principality Stadium, before the finals weekend at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Reflecting on the win, Morgan told TNT Sports: "It was pretty special to be out on the field with all the supporters here tonight. The Shed was bouncing and the atmosphere was class." He added that there is "still so much growth in the group" despite a strong start to the season.
