Tottenham are set to welcome back Pedro Porro for their Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday, with the defender having recovered from a hamstring injury.
Porro has been sidelined for a month after sustaining the problem during Spurs' 3-2 defeat by Aston Villa. He missed the 3-1 win over Coventry on Monday night, which marked Tottenham's first Premier League victory of the season.
The World Cup winner visited a specialist in Spain during the international break to aid his recovery. Head coach De Zerbi expressed optimism about his availability ahead of the Chelsea match.
Porro and Udogie boost for Spurs
“Pedro, I think he's coming. Maybe in Chelsea, he can play,” De Zerbi said at his pre-Coventry press conference.
Porro has since been pictured back in training as Spurs prepare for the visit to Stamford Bridge.
De Zerbi also hopes to have Destiny Udogie available after deciding not to risk the left-back against Coventry. Udogie has been managing a knee issue picked up against Manchester United, but has had two weeks to recover, and Tottenham are mindful of overworking him given his injury history.
Other injury updates
Mykhailo Mudryk is expected back soon from an ankle injury, though he is ineligible for the match as he is on loan from Chelsea. Tosin Adarabioyo, Andy Robertson and Omar Marmoush all came off against Coventry with suspected injuries, but De Zerbi played down fears of significant problems, and all three are expected to be fit. Marmoush was pictured training at Hotspur Way on Thursday.
Lucas Bergvall (knee) and Savio (muscle) remain out, while long-term absentees Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons are progressing but still some way from a return.
Maddison and Kulusevski in contention
James Maddison started his first competitive game since May 2025 in the win over Coventry, and Dejan Kulusevski made his first appearance in nearly 18 months off the bench. Both are expected to be in the matchday squad against Chelsea.
Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the second game of his three-match ban after being sent off against Manchester United for headbutting Luke Shaw.
De Zerbi will provide a further fitness update at his pre-Chelsea press conference on Friday afternoon.
