England Stars Clash in Heated East Midlands Derby Row

Henry Pollock was involved in a heated confrontation with several of his England team-mates during the East Midlands derby between Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

Half-Time Brawl Erupts

With Northampton leading 7-3, tensions boiled over at half-time after wing Adam Radwan pushed Alex Mitchell, sparking a mass brawl involving players from both sides.

Saints back-rower Pollock was at the heart of the melee, squaring up to his opponents before Tigers forward Ollie Chessum grabbed his shirt.

Several other players were caught up in the confrontation, including Wales international Aaron Wainwright, who squared up to Northampton's Australian back-rower Josh Kemeny.

Hostilities Continue Off the Pitch

But the hostilities did not end when the players left the pitch, with tensions continuing as they made their way up the stairs towards the changing rooms.

Pollock was pushed from behind by Leicester full-back Freddie Steward as the players attempted to head indoors, with the Northampton youngster seemingly in no hurry to bring the incident to an end.

In a further apparent attempt to wind up his opponents, Pollock stopped to pull up his socks, delaying the players' progress towards the changing rooms.

Tempers Flare as Players Head Indoors

The Saints back-rower was then given two forceful pushes, one each from Steward and Chessum, as tempers continued to flare following the half-time altercation.

"This is properly crackling now," said TNT Sports' lead commentator Nick Mullins. "Josh Kemeny and Aaron Wainwright look at this. By the time this lot finish their argument half-time will be over. Still they go. Oh well I've never seen anything like this."
