The 2026 Tour de France ends with a shortened 89km stage from Thoiry to Paris Champs-Élysées, reduced from 133km due to wildfires in southern France that have forced nearly 200,000 people to evacuate. The final stage includes three trips up the Côte de la Butte Montmartre and laps of the Champs-Élysées.
Pogacar set for fifth yellow jersey
Tadej Pogacar will be officially crowned champion for a fifth time after dominating the race since his attack on the Tourmalet on stage six. He could also win the stage. The Slovenian enters the final day with a comfortable overall lead after yesterday's stage 20, where Richard Carapaz won from the breakaway.
Other jersey battles settled
Yesterday's stage saw Mads Pedersen secure the points classification, Richard Carapaz take the polka-dot jersey, and Isaac del Toro claim the white jersey for best young rider with assistance from Pogacar.
Stage 21 contenders
With the shortened circuit resembling a spring classic, Mathieu van der Poel is a strong contender for the stage win, along with Pogacar and Pedersen. However, sprinters could also prevail if they survive the climbs. The race starts at 5:50pm CEST (4:50pm BST) in Paris after riders were bussed from Thoiry.
