England defender Ezri Konsa has expressed his anticipation for 'witnessing greatness' when Erling Haaland and Harry Kane go head-to-head in the World Cup quarter-final against Norway. Konsa, who is expected to start for the Three Lions in Miami on Saturday, also highlighted Antonio Nusa as a potential secret weapon for the Vikings.
Konsa's Verdict on the Strikers
The lead-up to the match has been dominated by discussions about two of the world's best strikers: England captain Harry Kane and Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who is Norway's all-time leading scorer despite being born in Leeds. Konsa said: 'It is going to be a test. I think every game is a test. We all know Haaland's qualities and what he can do in front of goal, but I have full belief, full confidence in the defence. As long as we stay 100 per cent focused, I'm sure we'll be alright.'
Norway's Other Threats
When asked about other dangerous players in the Norway squad, Konsa identified several: 'The left winger, [Antonio] Nusa. He seems pretty good. [Martin] Odegaard, who we're quite familiar with. They've got that tall right winger, [Alexander] Sorloth. Sander Berge, the midfielder from Fulham. We know they've got a lot of quality as well, so we're going to have to be on our A-game to overcome them.'
Konsa added: 'Two strikers on top of their game right now. It'll be nice to witness greatness on the pitch.' The match in Miami will determine which team advances to the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
