Star-Studded Partnerships Revealed
Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka will headline the 2026 US Open mixed doubles event, which returns for its second year with a revamped format. The winning team will claim £750,000.
Last year’s event was a major success, attracting top tennis names. This year’s draw includes several high-profile partnerships, with Djokovic and Sabalenka facing Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud in the first round.
Notable Pairings
Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper, who teamed up in 2025, will reunite in New York. North American duo Leylah Fernandez and Frances Tiafoe are also set to compete, alongside siblings Peyton Stearns and Preston Stearns.
Other pairings include Alexandra Eala with Felix Auger-Aliassime, Amanda Anisimova with Learner Tien, Alexander Zverev with Taylor Townsend, Diana Shnaider with Daniil Medvedev, Kei Nishikori with Naomi Osaka, and Mirra Andreeva with Andrey Rublev.
Defending Champions and Wildcards
Last year’s winners, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, will return to defend their title. An additional eight teams are expected to join via wildcards, leaving the door open for Carlos Alcaraz, who is recovering from injury.
Alcaraz has not played since mid-April, missing the French Open and Wimbledon. Former tennis star Greg Rusedski said: “To have a chance to play the US Open, you absolutely have to play Cincinnati. If he plays in Cincinnati and his pulse holds, it's going to be exciting news for our sport, because we really need him to come back. If, on the other hand, he does not play in Cincinnati, we will know that the US Open will not be possible, and he has been away from competition for a very long time now. He must be prudent, because he needs to gradually increase the workload and we must not rush the return.”
The main draw at Flushing Meadows begins on Sunday, August 23 and runs through Sunday, September 13.
