Anthony Joshua has three more years left in the ring before retiring, according to Matchroom founder Barry Hearn. The former two-time heavyweight champion returns to action on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia against Kristian Prenga.
Hearn's prediction for Joshua's career
Speaking to Sky Sports, Barry Hearn said Joshua is in an "amazing place" and more motivated than ever. "I don't think I've seen him so motivated for the long term," Hearn said. "He's now talking about the next three years in the ring. It was a year ago we were talking about potentially two fights and then go off to a happy retirement."
Joshua's return after car crash
Joshua, 36, has not fought since knocking out Jake Paul in December. His planned February return was postponed after a horrific car crash days after the Paul win. Many questioned whether he would fight again, and promoter Eddie Hearn had suggested 2026 could be his last year. But Barry Hearn said the accident has fuelled Joshua's motivation.
Upcoming fight with Tyson Fury
If Joshua comes through Saturday's fight unscathed, he will face long-time rival Tyson Fury in November. Fury, who called out Joshua after his comeback win in April, is also fighting this week, taking on Mariusz Wach in Thailand for charity.
