Toto Wolff launched a furious attack on rival engineers after the Hungarian Grand Prix, calling them 'Teletubbies engineers' for failing to display blue flags properly.
Blue flag controversy
Lando Norris won the race for McLaren, with Max Verstappen second and Kimi Antonelli third. Antonelli extended his championship lead over Lewis Hamilton. However, late in the race, the blue light panels stopped working, forcing manual flag signals. Wolff accused rival engineers of not telling their drivers about faster cars approaching.
"It's just disgraceful from some of the Teletubbies engineers that sit on the pit walls of these teams not telling the drivers what is happening behind," fumed Wolff.
Russell's start woes
George Russell suffered a disastrous start when his car went into anti-stall mode, dropping him down the order. He recovered to seventh, but Wolff admitted the team made a mistake. "Yet again, we made a mistake on screwing George's start. It's just not acceptable and not good enough from us," he said.
