Sean McCann, 21, the younger brother of Madeleine McCann, will swim for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He will join a squad that includes eight-time Olympic medalist Duncan Scott. Sean aims to use this as a stepping stone to qualify for Team GB and compete at the LA Olympics in 2028.
Family Background
Sean was only two years old when his sister Madeleine vanished from a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007. She has been missing since and is presumed dead. His sister, whose name has not been disclosed, will also compete for Scotland at the Games.
Path to Olympics
Competing alongside elite swimmers like Duncan Scott, Sean hopes his performance at the Commonwealth Games will put him on the path to the LA 2028 Olympics. The Games are a key opportunity for athletes to gain experience and recognition.
