Brentford are making progress in their pursuit of Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare as a replacement for Jordan Henderson, Standard Sport understands.
Talks Advancing
The Bees have identified the Mali international as their primary target to fill the void left by Henderson, who mutually terminated his contract with the club. Standard Sport reported on Wednesday that Henderson’s move to Chelsea on a two-year free transfer was completed.
Sangare is understood to cost around €45 million (£38.5 million), a fee that would make him Brentford’s record signing, just ahead of Dango Ouattara.
Other Options Available
While talks with Sangare are the most advanced, Brentford have alternative central midfield targets in case the deal encounters any obstacles.
